The EPA Lead & Copper Rule Revisions require water systems to submit a Lead Service Line Inventory (LSLI) by October 16, 2024. This applies to community (CWS), non-transient non-community (NTNCWS), and transient non-community (TNCWS) drinking water systems. For many facilities, this will be the piping from the water source to the interface where the piping enters a building. The rule requires that systems identify any lead piping that exists within their distribution system and to report the findings to the state health department. This can be accomplished through visual inspection, interviews, and review of historical records.
