Is your facility ready for GHS

Posted on May 1, 2014

With the changes that come along with the new GHS (Globally Harmonized System) for classifying and communicating chemical hazards, is your facility ready to comply? The goal of this new regulatory requirement is to standardize all chemical hazard labels and SDS (Safety Data Sheet), formally known as MSDS, information on a global scale.

December 1, 2013, was the deadline to train employees on the new label elements and the new SDS format. If you have missed this deadline, let Environmental 360 help you get the training completed ASAP. We will train on the format of the labels on containers and secondary containers including product identifier, pictograms, signal words, hazard statements, supplier identification, precautionary statements, and supplemental information. Additionally, the training will include the 16 section SDS format. All suppliers are required to begin using the new label information and SDS format by June 1, 2015, so make sure you and your facility are ready for this change to ensure a safe and healthful workplace for everyone. The Environmental 360 team can help make sure everyone in your facility understands the changes and can create a plan to implement these changes.  Let us know how we can help make this transition smooth by clicking on the “Contact Us” section on our website.
