This project included the redesign of the entire roadway network as well as the successful completion of the new monorail system which connects each terminal to long-term parking and other off-site mass transportation nodes.

Mr. Berkey advanced his career by owning and operating his own design/build engineering and construction firm. He successfully designed, obtained permits, and completed construction on many residential, commercial, and industrial projects as well as numerous public works infrastructure improvement projects. Several of the projects Mr. Berkey was involved with required design, successful permitting, and construction in and around sensitive state and federal jurisdictional streams and wetlands. These projects required permitting of stream crossings and wetland mitigation and required significant coordination with state regulators and the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Berkey’s company also successfully obtained permits, owned, and operated their own stone quarry.

After selling his business’s assets in 2005, Mr. Berkey re-entered the private consulting industry where he again managed a regional civil engineering office responsible for the design and construction of residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial site plans, and various public works infrastructure improvement projects.
