James Gunn is a Project Scientist with Environmental 360. James graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 2011. After graduation, he went to work as a Quality Assurance Technician for Hyundai Motor America in Montgomery, AL where he inspected newly manufactured vehicles to ensure quality standards.
James returned to Auburn in 2013 to pursue his Master of Science in Geology. During his time there, he served as a graduate teaching assistant and lab technician where he instructed undergraduate labs and conducted lab analysis projects.
After achieving his master’s degree in 2016, James began work as a geologist for Polaris Resource Engineering in Birmingham, AL, starting his career in environmental compliance. He worked primarily in groundwater remediation involving leaky underground storage tanks, as well as conducting Phase I and Phase II site assessments, and groundwater monitoring. Additionally, he routinely used AutoCAD to draft basic site maps, geologic cross-sections, and various chemical concentration maps.
James handles environmental compliance with LDAR and SPCC for several pulp and paper clients located in central and south Alabama, as well as environmental site assessments in Alabama. Additionally, he has helped to manage feral hog populations at multiple locations. James successfully manages multiple projects in his area and is someone who is well trusted by his clients.
James currently resides in Millbrook, Alabama. He enjoys spending time with family, the outdoors, and playing the guitar.
