The Re-notification Deadline for Small Quantity Generators is Approaching

Posted on August 4, 2021

Did you know that small quantity generators (SQG) of hazardous waste are now required to re-notify authorized states every four years? The first re-notification deadline is September 1, 2021, for Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Louisiana. To remain in compliance, EPA Form 8700-12 should be submitted electronically. Remember, generators should also submit this form whenever there is a change in site contact, ownership, or type of RCRA Subtitle C hazardous waste activity.

Small quantity generators generate between 220 and 2,200 pounds of non-acute hazardous waste per month. SQGs are subject to the applicable requirements in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 262. Environmental 360 can help your facility navigate federal and state waste regulations with written waste management plans that document all waste streams and handling procedures. We also perform waste sampling, TSDF audits, and can help improve waste signage at your facility. Contact us today for help with re-notification or other waste compliance questions!
